Julian is a Psychologist and Clinical Registrar with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Monash University. He has experience working across both public and private settings and also teaches fourth-year psychology at Monash University.

Starting therapy can feel uncertain. Julian focuses on building a calm and thoughtful working relationship from the beginning, so clients feel understood and supported as their therapy unfolds. He works in a culturally responsive way, tailoring therapy to each person’s unique goals and context.

Julian’s approach is purposeful and collaborative. He works with clients to make sense of what they are experiencing, and together this becomes a clear plan for meaningful change.

Whether someone feels stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in long-standing patterns, Julian focuses on building practical skills alongside deeper insight so that change feels realistic and lasting.

Julian draws on evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and DBT skills. He selects strategies that best fit the person and the problem.

Julian works with adults experiencing a range of conditions, including:

  • Depression and anxiety
  • Stress, burnout, and sleep problems
  • Emotion regulation difficulties e.g., intense emotions, anger, reactivity
  • Men’s mental health and wellbeing
  • Perfectionism, self-criticism, and low self-worth
  • Bipolar disorder and psychosis
  • Life transitions, grief, and adjustment
  • Relationships, communication, and interpersonal patterns
  • Identity, belonging, and negative self-talk
